Functional Integration®

Teaching by Handling

Functional Integration (FI) lessons are private and “hands-on.” Using precise movements, gentle manipulation and touch, Christine will use her hands to guide your movements as you lie fully clothed on a padded table, or as you sit or stand. As the lessons progress, you’ll gradually learn to eliminate excess strain and effort and begin to move more easily and freely.

Functional Integration is a gentle, effective, approach, widely recognized for its ability to address serious muscular and neurological problems, chronic tension and pain. The client lies fully clothed on a padded table, or sits or stands. Learning, change and improvement are achieved through the use of specific skilled movements, individualized for the client’s particular needs. Functional Integration is effective with a wide range of difficulties, such as cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, repetitive strain injury, scoliosis, stroke, chronic back, neck and shoulder pain, head injuries, TMJ pain, the issues of performing artists, and athletes, etc.
