The Moving Body’s Pilates Teacher Training Program
The Moving Body Studio is a member of The Pilates Method Alliance (PMA), an international professional association formed to protect the public by establishing certification and continuing education standards for Pilates professionals.
In 1997, we established our first Pilates Teacher Training Program to fill our need for teachers at The Moving Body. Our faculty trained on site and in New York City with Juliu Horvath (Gyrotonic® Level One) and Irene Dowd (Anatomy and Kinesiology, Movement Problem Solving).
In 2006, our 600-hour Pilates Teacher Training Program met the stringent requirements of the PMA. Our graduates are prepared to take the PMA certification test and pursue a career as a Pilates instructor.
| “The volunteers and teachers I’ve worked with at The Moving Body are so nice, and this community is so kind. Sometimes I feel like this is the perfect bubble. I still have a lot to learn, this is just a first step in my new career, but I’m going to keep going forward, Teaching something you enjoy is one of the best things in life.” |

Working with student teachers has been great. Their skills are excellent and questions they ask of a mentor are helpful for me.
